D-Jones Tip of the Week 6/22/2009

Dear readers,

In light of the hot and steamy day’s ahead I feel obligated to continue on with some advice in regards to the summer months. A question was asked a few days ago in reference to the type of suit fabric that should be worn during the warmer/hotter months? So, here is the answer to my friend’s question: “The most comfortable fabric in extreme “hot or cold” weather is wool”. 100% pure wool is the most advisable source of fabric due to its ability to regulate the body temperature. Now, there are some wool fabrics woven very thickly. That would not be the correct choice. But, the tight and thin wool fabric that is called the (Super 100’s), would be the optimum choice. The Super 100’s drape very nicely, breathes easily, and stretches, thanks to the natural elasticity of the fibers. Because of the natural fibers the suit will resume its original shape from creases and normal wear just by hanging it up. Now, cotton and linen are nice fabrics as well, but they will not regain the nice natural shape like the wool fabric.

But, do not shy away from wool-blended fabrics. They can be nice and light as well.

We look forward to your comments. Have a great week.
